MIYP- DAY 3

Okayy, day 3 was FUN and quite an exhausted day. After breakfast, we departed to Homestay Banghuris Sungai Pelek, Sepang, Selangor. Banghuris is a combination of 3 villages. There, we tour around the village visiting the frozen food * the curry-puff were spectacular *, the coffee estate and the kerepek industries. We even went to the rubber estate and get to scrub the rubber off from the tree which need hard work indeed. During lunch, there were some performance by the villages, which I don't exactly know the name but it looks some sort like Ghazal-thingy. We also been given the chance to request any songs desired and of course the Indian contingents were so excited requesting their Hindustan songs which as far I am concerned, it were so popular even in the UK's. We sang along, we dance and we had so much fun there. After Friday prayer, we went to try out the traditional games such like gasing, congkak, batu seremban and etc. We also get to taste the mouth watering coconut drinks fresh from the tree. Just pick one, and suck it up *wink*. We even got to fish and luckily a couple of our participants got a fish. Next, we got change and ready to depart to Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC) for the opening & welcoming ceremony by the Minister of the Foreign Affair and also the Declaration Statement by participants. After dinner, we prepared the booth for the exhibition the next day and rehearse for the cultural performance. At around 1.30 am, depart to hotel and straight to bed.

MIYP- DAY 2

Breakfast at the coffee house, then ready for the serious part of the programme. At 9am, we were given a brief talk by Supritendan ..... *can't remember the name* (sorry Sir) on the topic we were about to discuss later on that day.

We then been divided into 7 groups which consist of around 10 to 11 participants from each country and a group leader. Each group were given a specific topic on Street Crime to discuss on. I am in Group G and our group will be focusing on 'gang or street fight'. We were encouraged to discuss on the issue which is currently happen in our own country. After discussing, giving out opinions and thoughts, sharing information we then required to present on the outcomes of the discussion.

During the presentation, the team leaders were required to sit together and discuss the outcomes of what each group had discussed earlier that day and again come out with an outcomes for the Declaration Statement infront of the ministry later on.

After dinner, again, rehearsal for cultural performance. And thanks to Moin for being so patience with me *wink*.

MIYP- DAY 1

I arrived safely at Grand Season Hotel, Kuala Lumpur at around 12.30 pm. Check-in and went out for lunch with the other Malaysian participants at a nearby mamak restaurants. We then gather at the Ballroom to discuss on the exhibition equipments and preparing the traditional cultural performance that require by the programme in promoting Malaysia. Luckily we got Goh which really gave me a BIG help with the dances (disebabkan kekerasan tanganku).

After maghrib, we went down for dinner and at around 9pm, we gather all the participants and get to meet the delegations from the other countries. This year, there are only 13 countries participate in the programme. Briefing regarding the programme, ice breaking through the games held by the LO's and it is a GREAT fun.

We then, the Malaysian participants, stayed back and been bullied by Goh to practice the cultural dances for the performance until 1.30 am.

MIYP

The Ministry of Youth and Sports for the second time, organizing the Malaysia International Youth Programme (MIYP) on 12th - 17th May 2010 in Kuala Lumpur in conjunction with the 42nd National Youth Day of Malaysia. The theme of the conference is 'CRIME FREE GENERATION- FOCUSSING ON STREET CRIME'.

The objective of this programme is to gather youth leader or representatives from each country which participate in the programme, to meet, discuss, and ascertain solutions to any forms of crime as well as allow them to identify real issues on the ground. This programme also enrich the participants with deeper perception of the threat posed by any forms of crime.

I am glad to be one of the luckiest accepted applicants to this programme in representing Malaysia.

Final

Final had just started yesterday. I'm totally not prepared for everything. Cuak, but no action have been done. Even my paper start a bit late but still for the sake of my stupidity, a LOT of hard work is needed. So, anyone with gifted genius brain, please please please do help me out here.
